The first and foremost complaint I have found regarding the camera is the slow response time in regards to image processing. On very few occasions users have complained that the idle time between taking photos was a little longer than expected, specially when memory card was nearing half to full capacity. This is considering that the G11 actually has the best image processor in the market. The answer actually lies in the memory card, not the image processor.

The amount of idle time will depend a lot on the type of memorycard being used. It’s actually worth paying that little extra on a better memory card for maximum user experience. The one I would recommend which goes perfectly with this camera is the SanDisk 16GB Extreme 30MB/s Edition. These are high performance memory cards and are a lot better than the standard Canon memory card or the cheap no-name brands. A lot of sales people will tell you “all memory cards the same”. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The other memory cards can not write to memory fast enough causing delay in processing.
